In the Ticul Sierrita soils, we can found dark brownish coloration soil, which is known as “Kancab” which means white yellow or brown ground.
Mountain range surroundings
After studying an area about 10 km from our quarry, we found a dense creamy colored stone with darker grain. Because the homogeneity of the stone we decide the Industrial extraction of it and we called it “MACEDONIA”, it is also known as "CREMA MAYA".
Northern coastal border
In this area, just under the surface we find “COQUINA” or “MEXICAN SHELLSTONE”. This is the easiest location from which to extract the stone.
In the same area but about 15 ft. underground it is found “OYSTER”. Because of the fragility of the stone and the closeness of the water that begin at 20 ft, it is complicated the process of extraction but it is well paid thanks to the beauty of the natural fossil inlays that this stone contains.
